ResMed Ultra Mirage™ Full Face Mask Anti-asphyxia Valve (Elbow Assembly)

Great transaction by bestcpapprice.com. The valve itself could use some redesigning. This one part is the only one on my ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask, that consistently breaks. For masks that cost nearly $200, this part is very weak and breaks at the drop of a hat. I have tried a lots of masks, nasal and full face, and this mask is by far my favorite. But having to buy this one replacement part gets to be a hassle and very expensive at roughly $38 a pop.

I have been using the ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask (60602) for about 12 years. It has been an outstanding fit for me but it has a weakness that should have been fixed my ResMed. The anti-asphyxia valve assembly (6613) breaks very easily and the company will not sell the small part that breaks (valve frame) which would be very inexpensive. Instead, ResMed forces the customer to purchase the entire assembly. Why would they do this? I can only assume that money means more to them than customer. The part that must be purchased cost from $30 to $60 to make the mask usable again. Users of this mask end up with many good usable parts so they don't want to change to another mask. The company should do a customer appreciation campaign and send every customer a free part for every broken part they send to the company or allow the customer to purchase the tiny piece that is easy broken to be purchased individually. II stopped discardind the broken frame assemblies and I currently have 13 broken frames. ResMed knows this problem exists and apparently done nothing to correct it. Ironically, their defect brings in revenue. It is their achilles heel that brings in a profit.

who ever designed this mask is an idiot! Every part on it is subject to repeated failure. Image Nasa having to deal with such shoddy design! Shame on this company! Resmed designed the Quattro Full Face Mask to address the problems associated with the Ultra Mirage Full Face and they are much less prone to breakage. Changing mask is more expensive but may be a better long term solution.

This item is the weakest part of the whole CPAP. Extremely poor design and easily broken. Instead of buying the part that breaks you have to purchase the whole Elbow Assembly to be back up and running again. And I might add, at a very expensive price. I guess this how they make their money to stay in business.

I bought two parts for my resmed full face mask. The price was the best I could find. They were the exact same parts that came with the mask. The staff were really helpful, they know there stuff.

This valve has broken 4 times. The valve has 6 flimsy struts with openings between them. These struts are what break. You can buy the rubber membrane that goes inside this valve, but not the valve itself. Instead, you have to buy a complete Elbow Assembly for at least $35.00, plus S&H. ResMed should redesign the valve with thicker, stronger struts so it won't break, or at least package this valve along with the membrane so you can replace both at the same time when it does break.

I've been using the Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask for five years. I've only had to replace the face mask cushion and the clip piece that snaps the cushion on the mask. Recently a piece of plastic on the elbow assembly broke making the mask unable to be used so I searched the internet for the best price for a replacement elbow assembly and found one on "bestcpapprice.com". It came within two days and was a snap to replace. Now I can use my mask just like new! Thanks! T
