Phillips Respironics Remstar System One 50 Series Integrated Heated Humidifier
See Details
If you are purchasing a new CPAP, Auto CPAP or BiLevel (BiPAP) machine, humidifier or an oxygen concentrator, then federal law requires that we receive a copy of a prescription written by your doctor. A sleep study report does not qualify as a prescription. Also, the purchase of complete CPAP masks does require a prescription.
(*** Note that the component parts that make up the mask DO NOT require a prescription! ***)
The prescription must state that it is for CPAP therapy and at what pressure your machine should be set. If you are purchasing a standard CPAP machine (one that operates at a constant pressure), then the prescription must show one pressure setting, which is generally a number between 4 and 20 and measured in cm of H2O. If you are purchasing an Auto CPAP machine, then your prescription must state two different pressures: A low (minimum) pressure setting and a high (maximum) pressure setting. If you are purchasing a BiLevel machine, then your prescription must state two pressure settings: An inspiratory (IPAP) setting and an expiratory (EPAP) setting. If you are purchasing an Oxygen Concentrator, the prescription should have the flow rate stated in Liters per minute.
Prescriptions can be faxed to us at 888-469-2555, or we can accept a scanned copy of your prescription by emailing it to us at

.
Please note that orders for machines, concentrators, or complete masks will NOT be shipped until we receive a copy of your prescription!

Patient Support
Two of the most common complaints that we hear from CPAP users are issues with rain-out in their breathing tubes and machine damage caused by water making its way from the humidifier chamber back into the machine. Philips Respironics has made great strides to address both issues with the release of the System One Humidifier with Dry Box Technology. This new humidifier is now virtually spill proof, even when the humidifier is filled to the top level.
Note: This unit will only work with the Philips Respironics System One 50 Series of CPAP and BiPAP machines. Model #s DS150, DS250, DS450, DS550, DS750. This humidifier wil not work with the new 60 Series models. The model number of your System One cpap or BiPAP is indicated on the bottom of the machine near the serial number. View the picture above to determine how to tell if your cpap or bipap is a 50 or 60 Series model.
Product Features:
Unique, tubeless design that works with the new REMstar family. Its simple rubber coupler connection provides secure contact between the water chamber and the CPAP.
Clear, two-piece water chamber that's easy to fill and is dishwasher safe.
A lighted humidifier control button on the CPAP unit makes adjusting humidification levels easy.
Heater plate status light makes it easy to see when the humidifier is on or off.
This unit now runs directly off of 12V DC power, so you can run it while camping on battery power without the use of an inverter.
Specifications:

12V DC

Item arrived promptly and as described. Easily replaced my leaky old humidifier. Much cheaper than replacing the whole CPAP. Four stars (not five) because requiring 1) an Rx and 2) a Fed Ex signature for a humidifier seems excessive.

Q:
I have a machine I been using for years and the humidifier broke. Will I need a new prescription to purchase this replacement humidifier?
Asked by:
Byron
- 9/4/2019
A:
Yes, we were required to get a copy of a prescription for this item but it's discontinued and no longer available. Regardless we found more often than not its was a problem with the CPAP and not the humidifier. For whatever reason, the 50 series machines stop communicating with the humidifier and it won't heat. The only way to know is to attach a humidifier you know works to your machine or attach your humidifier to a machine you know that works.
